WELCOME TO FOODLAND

   

As the central hub of food and supplies, Foodland is one of the few resources available to the inhabitants of the Box. It currently restocks at an unknown point of time by unknown persons, known as the Gophers. While the Gophers don't come often, they bring with them useful tools for survival and maybe even a trinket or two from home.


All you have to do is ask.

Certain resources aren't as easy to come by as others and need to be requested (such as weapons + ammunition, large tools + explosives, vehicles + bikes, laptops + computers, and cigarettes). Staples such as cigarettes, lighters, and water bottles may not be listed in specific stock but can still be requested from Foodland. You can also request for your character to find items from your characters homes or pasts, and we'll let you know when the Gophers bring them to the Box.

Don't be intimidated by this post. MAKE USE OF IT. It is here to help you, not hurt you.

While characters can choose to rely on Foodland and looting, there are times when the gophers have not restocked and certain things are only available through trade. We heavily encourage in-character trading and alternative access to resources, as it enriches the game and is a great way to build new CR!

Remember that a request is just that, a request. Due to the harsh nature of the Box, no request is guaranteed and even ones granted may come with a catch of some sort. The same goes for requesting plot tidbits, items from home, or big ticket items. If your character has received something juicy in the recent past, they may not necessarily find something as exciting every time. Bear this in mind!

Another note: For the sake of our mod team and speedy responses to requests, please try to limit your lists to a manageable size. You're welcome to write a longer list, but bear in mind that your character will not receive everything if the list is over 10 items.

Item requested: Hope the mods got their DnD screens out because it's time to see what random bullshit we get from slaughtering the local wildlife. Why the hell do random giant rats even have 5 gold on them? Where do they put it?

Most of what's "inside" these animals is what you might expect. Half digested prey, a surprising amount of garbage, and a human hand or two.

However, stomach contents suggest one of the sharks recently won a battle with a single merman, and tangled up in their nasty half-digested claws is an amulet on a fine gold chain.

It's a simple stone, deep red in color, with marks Psii does not recognize etched into it.

Most importantly, do license plates count as 'trash'? We are recreating Jaws in here if it kills me.

Oh, and what kind of marks are on the stone, and would anyone in the Box right now recognize them?

Hell yeah there are a couple of license plates in the mix. One from Alaska, one from Montana.

The marks are representative of a very primitive language. Whatever it says, it's very short, likely a single word or brief mantra. There are loads of people in Box who could tell him what it means, but the thing is, they're all seadwellers, they're armed, and they hate him.

Hell yes. He has no idea what these letters mean, but he will accept them.

...Seadwellers. They never like Psii. He has no idea why. Icon what If Psii were to wear or have the amulet visible in whatever way near our resident fishy friends, would their reactions change from the usual "fuck off landwellers" or just be the same?
