Make sure to read the Rules and FAQ prior to applying to this game. Reserves ✖ Taken Characters You can check any Box community profile or the bottom of the Latest Page to see when the app round is open. If you reply before the mods have added the "Apps are Open" comment, your app will be deleted. We also have an application queue page, which gets updated during app rounds. Applications are not processed until the last day of the application round, due to the way our new character introduction logs are set up. Characters are placed and occasionally given items in ways which encourage character relation building from the start. This means we need to know approximately how many people we have coming in so we can plan it out. ✖ Copy and paste the form below to fill out your application. ✖ Reply to this post with the application or a link to it on your journal. ✖ All comments are screened. ✖ If you want your application unscreened at any time, just let us know. ✖ The title of your reply should read: Character Name | Canon | Reserved (if reserved) Samples may be reused from previous apps or linked so long as they fit the qualifications. However, you may only link for one sample. The other must be written. Linked samples must be from within the last 12 months. <span style="font-size: larger;"><b>Player Information</b></span> <b>Player name:</b> What should we call you? <b>Contact:</b> E-mail/Aim/Plurk. Some way to reach you if we have questions. <b>Are you over 18:</b> Y/N <b>Characters in The Box Already:</b> Do you play anyone else in the game? <span style="font-size: larger;"><b>Character Information</b></span> <b>Character Name:</b> Full name, if applicable. <b>Canon:</b> The show/game/book/what have you that they're from. <b>Canon Point:</b> The point in their story you're taking them from. <b>History:</b> For characters who have a reasonable amount of information on a wiki page or character bio, a link will suffice. If the character in question is minor or does not have much information posted, you should go into more detail here. OCs will require detailed but concise written histories. <b>Personality:</b> What is your character like? What motivates them? Be thorough on this section; it's one of the ones we judge most closely. Also, be aware that while we encourage the use of canon examples to back up your statements, most of this section should be about what makes your character tick. <b>Items on your character at canon point:</b> Most items will be confiscated, especially anything that can be used as a weapon. However, you will be able to put in a request for them later. Tell us what your character has on them at their canon point so we can make sure you know what items they can keep, and what ones they can get back later. <b>Abilities:</b> We are not only looking for supernatural abilities here, but also specific skills that set this character apart. Are they a good fighter? Do they speak seven languages? Be sure to include mental abilities and skills, not just physical. <b>Strengths and Weaknesses:</b> Here, we want to know what your character's good and bad points are. Are they someone who can keep their cool in a crisis? Does blood make them faint? Are they a natural leader or a coward who runs at the first sign of danger? <span style="font-size: larger;"><b>Samples</b></span> <b>Network/Action Sample:</b> This sample must be in action form (brackets). We are looking for a minimum of 6 to 10 lines that give us an idea of how your character speaks and acts. You may link one of these, action OR prose, to samples from other places as long as they are from 12 months ago or earlier. <b>Prose Log Sample:</b> 300 word minimum. This sample must be in prose format (paragraphs, no brackets) and should show character reactions/introspection. It does not need to be in The Box setting, but it must demonstrate your character as you are apping them. You may link one of these, action OR prose, to samples from other places as long as they are from 12 months ago or earlier. As a note: Revision requests and rejections are screened for the privacy of those who apply. Apps are only unscreened if the player wishes for them to be.

Upon arrival:

Your character will find themselves waking up early on the morning of Tuesday, the 1st of April in a classroom within The Sunken School. If they inspect their person, they'll find that any removable weapons and any devices previously used for communication have been taken from them (or disabled if non-removable). They will have no recollection of how they came to be in this place, though all other memories will be intact.

But, thankfully, they will not be alone. They will find others like them. Others that might even have some answers, though they might not like what they hear.

Items on Your Character:

If any of your character's weapons or communicators have been confiscated by the Technicians, you can get them back by requesting them on the Resources page, and we'll have the Gophers drop them off in the Box next time they restock.

A Note:

When your character wakes up, they will find themselves in the partially sunken School just South of Northtown, with others waking up just like them. There will be an intro log for this on April 1st. Please do not make any posts or comments to the logs and network community until the log goes up. You will be able to find the log Here at Midnight EST on the 31st of March.
